Try something new

In an effort to "mix it up" and keep our healthy lifestyle interesting, I often try new fruits and veggies that come into season. This week at my local fruit stand Israeli melons were the stand out among the typical apples and pears. At 69cents a pound I figured we'd give it a try. The sale gal described it as a cross between other melons, specifically mentioned cantaloupe and honeydew. Now I love cantaloupe, but not a huge fan of the honeydew, but this melon smell yummy! I sliced it this morning and it is perfectly ripe. It is sweet with a mild taste, almost impossible to describe, but good. I'm off to cube it up and enjoy a bit with my breakfast!
